During these two weeks, I have done lots of revision for the modules that were going to be tested especially for module EG1001 and EG1004. I did all the tutorials and redo the tutorials that were done so that it would freshen up my memory. It was tiring but i got the hang of it. It was about complex numbers too but it is much more complicated. It contains the Polar Form and Exponential Form of a complex number. I had to know how to get these two forms and it wasn't an easy task. Although Mdm Lim taught us how to use the calculator to get these two forms, it still did not get into my mind. I had to read the notes properly and do practises to get it right.

For EG1004, Mdm See introduced us a new chapter which was Field-Effect Transistors (FET). It wasn't as complex as it seems and it was easy to understand. I have done the tutorials and read through the notes. Overall, I understood this topic.

For module EG1004, Mdm See started a new chapter which was DC Biasing - BJT. Therefore there was no problem for me.

PD Goal Week 5

Activity : Revision on topics that were covered during week 5 for EG1001 and EG1004

Outcome : For module EG1001, Mdm Lim taught a new topic which was Common Engineering Functions. This topic contains many segments so there were many to learn. This topic was the most difficult of all during my 5 weeks in NYP. I did not really revised this topic much as I thought that I would not choose this kind of questions when doing the common test. But that wasn't suppose to be like that, so therefore I bucked up and tried to understand this topic by doing practises and asking my classmates. But till now, I'm still having doubts in this topic.

For module EG1004, Mdm See continued on the chapter BJT. She went through the tutorials on that particular chapter so that we would understand it more and also to let us check if our answers are correct.

PD Goal Week 4

Activity : Revision on topics that were covered during week 4 for EG1001 and EG1004

Outcome : For EG1001, I have learnt a new topic which is Adding Sine and Cosine Waves: R-method. When Mdm Lim went through this topic, I was simply lost and it had many formulas and it was complicated. It contains exponential and logarithmic equations and it took me quite a while to be able to figure it out.

We learnt a new chapter for module EG1004, which was Bipolar Junction Transistor (BJT). This chapter is interesting and it contains quite a number of formulas which have to be memorised. I've also learnt the regions of operation for BJT. Overall, I had to memorise and do practises on the tutorials in order to get it into my head.

PD Goal Week 3

Activity : Revision on topics covered during week 3 for EG1001 and EG1004

Outcome : The new topic taught during week 3 for EG1001 was Graphs of Trigonometric functions. I did not quite like it as graphs was difficult for me. We had to know which position to draw the graph for sine and cosine, and it was complicated for me. I had to do lots of practise before I am able to do the tutorials. But through practising this topic with my classmates, I understand this topic better and was able to do the tutorials.

For EG1004, we were still at Diode Applications as this chapter contains different segments. I learnt about the different types of Diode applications circuits. This segment was difficult for me as I couldn't identify the 3 types of circuits. While doing the tutorials, I have difficulty completing it as I did not know how to draw the circuit. So I have to keep reading and memorising how to draw it before I could complete my tutorials.

PD Goal Week 2

Activity : Revision on topics that are covered by week 1 and week 2 on EG1001 and EG1004

Outcome : My EG1001 (maths) lecturer taught a new topic on Trigonometric Functions during week 2. I would say that this new topic was quite an advantage to me as I have learnt it during my secondary school days. It was all about angles, etc. I revised the notes for the topic taught during week 1 which was Functions and Graphs by reading the notes and doing the tutorials. During weekends, I revised the new topic, Trigonometric Functions, by reading the notes given and also doing the tutorials. Slowly, I got to know these two topics better.

For my EG1004 module, Mdm See taught us the next chapter which was Diode Applications. It was about how diodes are used in circuits and the different types of it. It was quite profound to me so I had to clarify with Mdm See and classmates before I could understand it. I revised the topic taught during week 1 and 2 by doing the tutorials and reading the lecture notes as well.

PDP Goal Week 1

Goal : Getting As for module EG1001 and EG1004
Activity : Buying necessary books or notes for module EG1001 and EG1004

Outcome : I attended my first lesson on EG1001 which is Engineering Maths. My module lecturer is Mdm Lim. After lessons, I went to get the book called "Mathematics with Calculus 2e". The book is about 700 over pages so it's thick and heavy. It cost about 20 to 22 dollars. The first chapter that Mdm Lim taught was Functions And Graphs. As always, this new topic looks strange to me as I have never come across it before in my secondary school days. It was tough at first but slowly I got to the topic more by reading the notes, doing some practise and asking my classmates.

Next, I also attended my first lesson on EG1004 which is Analog Electronics. My module lecturer/tutor is Mdm See. While getting the book for EG1001, I purchased the lecture notes for EG1004 as well. The first chapter that we learnt was "Diodes". I did not understand anything at first but slowly I understand it better by asking my classmates and doing the tutorials. This module is quite interesting as during the practical lessons in the lab, we get to make a circuit by following the lab sheets. This purpose is to test the voltage through the diodes and etc.

So overall, it was a new start to my education.
